My Space to ramble.....

Been a few days now...

I have been a little preoccupied these past few days with some good and some bad things....the bad things obviously relating to the death the family recently experienced, my great uncle's funeral was yesterday and although they are never a nice thing to attend, I thought it was pleasant and very respectfully put together.  The ended by laying some beautiful flowers on the grave and going on to my aunts house for the wake where I do believe a suitable amount of alcohol was consumed to be classed as a good send off ;)

The good things I was referring to however was my birthday this Sunday just passed, I turned 20 years old...the teenage years are officially behind me, not quite sure how to feel about that...
I didn't really do much for my birthday, just went out for a lovely meal with my family and got rather merry with a bottle of pink champagne my mother gave me that morning!

My South Africa trip is getting closer now! just 5 days to go and I'll be boarding that plane for a mammoth of a journey!!

Anyway, until another day....

Strange couple of days...

Yes these past couple of days have been a mixture of sad, strange, frustrating and just down right odd!

I have recently experienced a death in the family and I have found sad and strange at the same time as I have never had to deal with the death of a family member before.  I was surprised by how much there is to do and by how people don't waster time.....the man wasn't even dead for 24 hours and the funeral was booked and his flat nearly emptied.  It seems sad that your life can just be packed away in under a day when your gone.

Now, on a completely different note.....I have been getting increasingly frustrated with our postal service!! First of all, the post should not arrive at 2:30 pm!!! It should be here in the morning around the same time you grab your breakfast.  It makes it even worse when you are waiting for something in the post! I am waiting for my flight and project details from my Africa trip in a couple of weeks which I was told I would receive this week......c'mon post, sort it out!!

That's all for now people,

I think I might have made my mind up....

These past few months I have struggled when thinking what career is right for me.......

I have floated from animal/conservation based career, events management and various other paths,  but after talking it over extensively with my family etc...I have been looking a great deal in to nursing.

I have grown up listening to and learning medical terminology from my mother who is a health care professional and know I would receive an immense amount of support.
Other benefits would be the recent rise in salary for nurses and if worked up to the position of nurse consultant, one can earn up 50K a year which personally I think is fantastic!!

So, the plan is (if this is my final decision) to get myself to Sheffield Hallam university and grab myself an advanced adult nursing diploma and perhaps work up to the degree!
So bear with me and lets see what happens!!

Euromillions....What would you do if you won?

So the euromillions jackpot has been won, one life has changed forever and millions of others will simply carry on as they were....

What would you do if you won??? Buy a big house? Go travelling? Invest? Give it to charity?
OR all of the above??

With a jackpot of over £160 million, the world would quite literally be your oyster! you could without a doubt, do what ever you wish! Sorted for life, just like that, Done.

Fabulous house in a beautifully hot country?

Jetting off, escaping? Oh how I wish I could!

What would you do with that ridiculous amount of cash??

Little Bit of Everything :)

Good morning bloggers! :D

So did you here about Victoria Beckham giving birth to a baby girl yesterday?? I am very happy for the couple however I feel sorry for the poor thing with the name she has been given.....Harper Seven Beckham! Personally I think it either sounds like a boys name.

Also I would like to comment on some recent celeb fashion mishaps......Nicole Kidman at the 2011 CMT awards wore a very odd ensemble...

The dress which looks like it has velvet near the neckline and mash up of green shades with bright blue shoes???? Not a good look if you ask me! What do you think??

Last thing in this post I want to talk about is basic hair care routines......

Beautiful, long, healthy and shiny hair is something most women dream of having! and with these brilliant hair basics, it shouldn't be too difficult to achieve:

  • Wash frequently
If you leave it too long between washes, you risk a build up of lacquer or other styling products, as well as natural oils, plus dust and smoke from the atmosphere and the dulling effect of UVA radiation. To avoid this, I recommend washing your hair every other day.

  • Use a conditioner
When it comes to bright, shiny, hair, conditioner is one of our great allies. Make sure you choose one suited to your own hair type and use it every time you wash your hair. In addition, apply a once-a-week deep conditioning treatment, leaving it on for twenty minutes with your hair wrapped in a warm damp towel.

  • Rinse in cold water
After washing with shampoo and applying conditioner, finish off with a cold rinse – making sure the water is every bit as cold as you can bear. This will help to close the hair cuticle and leave hair glossy.

  • Use styling products
Using styling gels and mousses helps bring out the shine as they help protect the hair from external damage and control frizz; they close up the cuticle and leave the hair shaft smoother and better able to reflect light, which is what shine is all about. They also mean we aren't tempted to rely on the hair drier so much. Be careful, though, to choose a product appropriate for your hair type and not to apply too much or you will get a build up effect, with just the opposite results to those you're aiming for.

That's all for now my lovelies :)

Sunday Morning, Rain is Falling.....Steal Some Covers, Share Some Skin

I love Sunday mornings when your only worry that day is what should I grab to eat?? there is nothing better than lounging around in your bed till midday with a good book or most often in my case a cooking program (I have a slight obsession).

That's all I really wanted to say this lovely Sunday morning bloggers!......Good Morning! :)

    Pet Peeves and Other Ramblings....

I have a few pet peeves I am not going to lie but I have no doubt we all do! We all have those little things (or big things!) that get to us like nothing else, causing more annoyance than they probably should!
My biggest pet peeve at the moment is quite a big, general, overall type annoyance that is called Doncaster Town Centre at night (or DTC as it is so lovingly named...).  The whole combination of loud chavy music, girls who forgot their clothes (and for some reason mistook orange paint for makeup) and drunken, touchy feely, sweaty men just grates on me to another level!

Don't get me wrong, I love Ann Hathaway but in this picture from Bride Wars he shows the massive FAIL that fake tan can be...or often is!
I have been round a few friends and members of the public and asked them what their biggest pet peeves are........
-Drivers who don't use a turn signal.
-People who read out loud what they're typing in an email or letter.
-Kids who tease dogs through a fence.
-People who drink directly out of the milk/orange juice container.
-Couples who sit on the same side of the booth when there is no one on the other side.
-Parents who bring their young kids to R rated films.
    -People that don't use coasters.
-People who blame anything but themselves for THEIR failure.
-People who sit next to you on public transportation even when there are other seats available.
    -Noisy eaters.
-Students who prolong class by asking the most inane questions.
-Women who wear jewelry that clinks and clacks and makes noise when they're at their desk or keyboard.

-When people take 20 napkins, use one, and then throw them all away.

So, how to make sure such pet peeves don't get to you too much!
Take a step back, breath and move on...getting angry and starting arguments will not help anything and will only result in more resentment and fury!
The solution for my pet peeve is to simply not go to Doncaster Town Centre.....I am more than happy to go for a drink with my friends but I just beg of them to perhaps go to a bar or pub maybe, rather than the horrible atmosphere of the clubs in Doncaster!

Oh well, at least in a matter of weeks I will be able to escape this and jet off to South Africa for two months!! :)

I want to know what your pet peeves are and why!

    XOXO
